“The Breath of God, the debut thriller by Jeffrey Small, is sure to create controversy while exploring the plausibility of an ancient legend that could tie the world’s religions to each other.

Although fiction, Mr. Small paints a colorful and realistic depiction of India that reflects the multi-faceted environment of daily existence in that /5().

Again He said to me, “Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.’ Thus says the Lord God to these bones, ‘Behold, I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life.

The other stories have a lot to offer though. I especially loved The Buck in the Hills, a story that really reflects some themes Clark has used in his novels; I'm appreciative of stories where there is a clear line drawn of moral and immoral The Watchful Gods, since it's novella length, looms over and judges the other stories in this book, so 4/5.

Even my least favourite in the collection, Black Man with a Horn, was superbly written/5(88). Fans of the American Gods book and adapted TV show know author, Neil Gaiman, is the man.

It doesn't matter if you've read one or all of his books, he's found a Author: Candace Ganger. "The remaining demigods must be The Children of the Big Three. 2 of them are full blooded siblings while the other 2 are half siblings. Since they said that all 3 of the Big Three have their kids here then the last demigod must also be a Child of the Big Three."Reviews:   And as humans, shicts and tulwar prepare to tear each other apart, none are aware of the ancient horror that marches upon their tiny wars.

At the tip of a spear or beneath the heel of demons, the reign of mortals ends. Bring Down Heaven The City Stained Red The Mortal Tally God's Last BreathBrand: Orbit. The Watchful Gods and Other Stories is a collection of short stories by Walter Van Tilburg Clark published in It brings together eight stories and one novella (the title story).

Three of the stories had already appeared in the annual anthology of O. I was always a curious child, and this curiosity gave birth to a bad reading habit. When I was about a quarter of the way into a novel — about where I would start becoming invested in the characters — I would impatiently flip to the end of the book to find out how the story ends.
